About Yass Football Club

Yass Football Club, known as the Redbacks, is more than just a sporting organisation – it’s a community legacy built from the ground up. From humble beginnings as an indoor soccer initiative in 2002, we’ve grown into a proud club representing players from juniors through to open-age teams across regional and national competitions.

Our Journey
What began as a local indoor soccer comp quickly turned into a full-fledged club thanks to the passion of dedicated parents and volunteers. Our first outdoor game kicked off in 2002, and by 2005 we had officially rebranded from Yass Soccer to Yass Football Club, aligning with national terminology and proudly adopting the Redbacks name.
- 2002: First summer competition (230+ players)
- 2005: Rebranded as Yass Football Club
- 2006: Entered Capital Football competition
- 2007: Launched first Open Men’s team
- 2009: Launched first Open Women’s team
